The Blossom

Merry merry sparrow!
Under leaves so green
A happy blossom
Sees you swift as arrow
Seek your cradle narrow
Near my bosom.
Pretty pretty robin!

প্রফুল্ল, উৎফুল্ল চড়ূই!
গাঢ় সবুজ পাতার নিচে
একটি প্রস্ফুটিত ফুল
দেখেছি তোমায়, তীরের মতো ক্ষিপ্র,
খুঁজেছি তোমার ছোট্ট দোলনা,
আমার হৃদয়ের কাছে।
চমৎকার, সুন্দর দোয়েল পাখি!
গাঢ় সবুজ পাতার নিচে
একটি প্রস্ফুটিত ফুল
শুনেছি তোমার কান্নার ফোঁপানি
চমৎকার, সুন্দর দোয়েল পাখি,
আমার হৃদয়ের কাছে।
The Theme : In literature, the sparrow is usually associated with carefree life and robin with friendliness. So, I think the theme of the poem can be that innocence exists in a world that includes reasons for sobbing and for compassion. The fragility of the blossom represents the fragility of innocence when it is also ignorant.
(সাধারণত সাহিত্যে, চড়ূই ভাবনাহীন জীবন আর দোয়েল বন্ধুত্বকে প্রতীকায়িত করে। তাই আমার মনে হয় এই কবিতার বিষয়বস্তু এই যে, নিষ্পাপতা এমন এক পৃথিবীতে বিরাজ করে যেখানে কান্না ও সমবেদনার কারণ সমূহ বিদ্যমান গুল্মলতার ভঙ্গুরতা নিষ্কলুষতার ভঙ্গুরতার ইঙ্গিত দেয় যখন এটা অনবহিত থাকে।)
